Our Story
Shoeb and Guille met their first year at UC Berkeley when they were living in the Clark Kerr dormitory. Their first interaction was during a soccer game for the members of their building. Guille was playing goalie and Shoeb hopelessly attempted to score a goal. Although Shoeb was able to skillfully pass the other team, he was consistently blocked by Guille. From that point forward they built a friendship based on their favorite things: soccer, video games, food and cookies.
Shoeb
Shoeb is the youngest son of Mohammed Altaf and Tahera Omar. He is very close to his parents and his brother Zain. When you first meet him you will realize he is the biggest dork in the universe. This is easily seen by his love of computers and cartoons. When you first hear him speak you'll instantly notice his accent–one he gained from being raised in England. You'll also notice that he is completely obsessed with anything related to soccer, or as he would say, football. At UC Berkeley, Shoeb spent most of his time playing soccer or video games with friends; he also at some point found time to get a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. However, once you look past his dorky obsessions you will find he is a very kind and caring person who will do anything he can to help those around him.
Guille
The smartest most beautiful girl in the entire world. Has the heart of an angel. Guille has that unique quality of being the kind of girl that you interact with and leave feeling happy, simply from having a conversation with her. She's extremely talented and graduated from both UC Berkeley in Sociology and San Jose State University with a Masters in Social Work. She is the youngest of seven siblings and is extremely close to her family. She loves to run in her free time and is annoyingly good at soccer :). Finally, she generally has impeccable taste, but clearly her choice in men is questionable.
The Proposal
Shoeb took Guille back to UC Berkeley to retrace their old hang out spots. Of course that included walking around Clark Kerr, having some tea at Cafe Milano's and eating at Naan N Curry. The day ended with a trip up to the Campanile. It was there that Shoeb got down on one knee and proposed in the cold rainy Berkeley weather.
